Why you should think ergonomics into your production line

Improved ergonomics helps lessen muscle fatigue and musculoskeletal disorders.

Why you should think ergonomics into your production line

Although increasing numbers of robots and machines on production lines have helped with difficult tasks, it is very clear that people remain a key and important resource. That is why ergonomics in production lines is important, and why poor ergonomics can actually cost a company dearly.

According to the US Department of Labor, ergonomics-related injuries account for US$ 15-20bn every year. In 2013, such injuries caused 380.600 days away from work which is one third of the total number of called in days absent. A recent study in the UK by the Health and Safety Executive stated that musculoskeletal disorders affect one million people every year as a direct result of poorly designed workstations.

Think ergonomics into your production line

With statistics like these, it is not surprising that the study of ergonomics is becoming more and more important. Done well, ergonomic design can increase motivation and satisfaction and ultimately result in better performance and higher productivity.

We offer an almost endless range of lifting columns, actuators, control boxes and controls with the sole purpose of adjusting any application found in a production line, to fit the specific employee perfectly and thus improve the ergonomics for that specific employee.

The result: Better ergonomics, fewer musculoskeletal disorders and fewer days away from work for the benefit of both the company and the individual employee. Learn more about ergonomics in production facilities.
