Desk Tracking System

The DESKLINE Desk Tracking System allows office desks powered by LINAK to connect to a Wi-Fi network and track occupancy data from desks via a sensor.

The solution consists of a WiFi2LIN box, a Desk Sensor™ 2 (DS2), and an Application Programming Interface (API) for sensor data read-out . The DESK Wi-Fi App for setting up the tracking system is a part of the solution.

Powered by the CBD6S control box or the DL IC system, batteries are not required.

Tracking data can be used as part of an office booking system, or to optimise the use of space by tracking the occupancy of an office environment.

The DESKLINE^® Desk Tracking System is developed for offices and allows DESKLINE applications to connect to a Wi-Fi network and track occupancy data from desks via a sensor. The solution consists of a Desk Sensor™ 2, a WiFi2LIN012 box, an Application Programming Interface, and the DESK Wi-Fi App.

The Desk Sensor™ 2 (DS2) is an occupancy sensor that detects if an employee is using the desk where the DS2 is mounted. The DS2 is a small, compact plug-in adapter based on an accelerometer technology, and it detects any user interactions with the desk, such as tapping the computer keyboard, moving the mouse, or placing a coffee cup on the desk. Even the smallest movements will cause a signal to be sent to the WiFi2LIN012 box. The DS2 is compatible with all DESKLINE systems based on Control Box CBD6S and with DESKLINE DL IC (Integrated Controller) systems, and it works with both 2-part and 3-part columns.

The DESKLINE WiFi2LIN012 box enables connection of one DESKLINE application to a Wi-Fi network. It monitors occupancy data from the DS2 plugged into the WiFi2LIN012 box, the Control Box CBD6S or the RJ45 T-splitter connected to the DL IC Master column. The WiFi2LIN012 box sends sensor data to the LINAK cloud. The WiFi2LIN012 box is easy to connect. Simply connect the box to the application using a DC cable for power and a LINbus cable for communication, and apply power. The WiFi2LIN012 box is compatible with the DS2, Control Box CBD6S, DL IC systems (with the use of an RJ45 T-splitter), and all DESKLINE controls.

The DESK Wi-Fi App is developed for setting up WiFi2LIN012 boxes to a Wi-Fi network. The app is a tool for service technicians to set up a desk tracking/booking system in an office. Use the DESK Wi-Fi App to set up the box to the office network. An on-boarding flow will help the service technicians get started and connect office desks to a Wi-Fi network via the WiFi2LIN012 box. Via the network, the box connects to the LINAK^® cloud, where an anonymous registration of the desk is made. The app supports the WiFi2LIN012 box connected to the Control Box CBD6S or to the DL IC Master column, and the DS2.
