History and development
L&R Kältetechnik is a family-run company founded in 1991 by the Rüßmann family, consisting of a father and two sons. The head office is in Sundern, Sauerland. L&R Kältetechnik manufactures high-performance, high-quality refrigeration systems. The company installed its first refrigeration system on Usedom in 1995. In 2020, L&R Kältetechnik ventured into direct sales of refrigeration systems and founded the Art of Cryo brand.
Presentation of the Art of Cryo Flow System
The Flow System visually looks like a space capsule in which the user lies up to their chest. To maximise comfort, the back section of the lying surface is electrically adjustable. Additionally, the capsule can be moved lengthways, making it easier to get in and allowing it to be adjusted to the user's height.
Matthias Müller, Sales Manager at LINAK® GmbH, explains: 'L&R Kältetechnik came to us with the requirement for a movement that should be very safe'. LINAK addressed this with the LA40 in two versions: one being the LA40 IRS and the other in combination with safety switches designed to prevent the risk of crushing.
Technical requirements and solutions
An important aspect for Lothar Abels, Product Manager and developer of the Flow System, was the integration of a specially developed operating system using a higher-level control system. This control system also had to control the backrest and the movement of the capsule. LINAK met this requirement with the Modular Junction Box, a transmitter box that translates control commands from the L&R control unit into the bus system of the LINAK control unit. This made it possible to achieve precise and safe control via a separate operating system.
The state-of-the-art Flow System operates with alternating overpressure and under-pressure conditions for maximum comfort and optimal results. Cryotherapy shows particularly promising results when cold chambers are used in combination with applications such as the Art of Cryo Flow System and the Multi Cryo-Hacking System. The recommended procedure is to first use the cold chamber and then the Flow application. Flow can also be used on its own.
Areas of application and advantages
Product Manager Lothar Abels reports that Flow is used in the sports industry for competition preparation and regeneration, for improving the body contour, optimisation, and promoting performance.
Production and quality assurance
As a highly specialised company with its own development and research department in the field of refrigeration technology and high-performance cold room construction, Art of Cryo manufactures all technical units, including the electrical cabinet, in its own production facilities in Sundern. Even the programming of the control system is carried out on-site. Art of Cryo produces exclusively in Germany to guarantee customers worldwide the highest quality standards and technical reliability for decades to come.
