Basic, Advanced and Parallel

Depending on your needs, we give you a choice of three levels of interface options for your IC actuator. Explore the various benefits and learn how you can achieve precise movement here.

Basic, Advanced and Parallel are the first generation of IC and is part of our IC Integrated Controller™ range.

As the name indicates, you can choose between three levels of interface options for your IC actuator. Learn more about the different features you get in each of the three levels here.

Basic – for a simple plug-and-play solution

With Basic you get a simple plug-and-play solution that is easy to install. The straightforward actuator solution comes pre-configured with end-stop signals and default soft-start and soft-stop values.

LINAK® put together the pieces that fit your needs, so when the actuator reaches your door, all you have to do is plug it in.

The Basic option gives you basic control features with a standard run, using a digital input signal, as well as actuator monitoring options like temperature monitoring and current consumption. By monitoring these values, the actuator can stop if it exceeds the limits.

Advanced – for a customised solution

Advanced helps you create the ideal movement solution for your application. Fundamentally, you are getting the same as Basic, but with additional features like customisation, access to our BusLink™ service- and configuration tool for direct adjustment, manual run, real-time monitoring, diagnostics etc.

Advanced offers everything from various feedback types, easy control solutions, end stop in/out signals and customisation to actuator monitoring options.

Get an summary below of the feedback options you get with Advanced. This can help you tailor a movement solution to meet your requirements and integrate smoothly with your application.

BusLink

Actuators with IC Integrated Controller™ from LINAK can be configured via the BusLink™ configuration software.

Download a free version of the latest BusLink™ software to configure your actuator or read out service data. The basic functionalities are explained here, and each communication protocol also comes with a variety of added features and guidelines.

If you are working with Modbus RTU® (6-pin signal cable) actuators, please download this version of BusLink.

Feedback

The actuator position can be read out as an analogue position output or a digital position output.

Receiving feedback from an actuator will give a precise overview of its position. This feedback is essential for achieving optimal performance in most applications.

Actuators with Advanced offer a range of integrated feedback types, making it easy and fast to read out the actuator position:

Feedback types

Analogue output

  • Current (4-20 mA*)
  • Voltage (0-10 V*)

Digital output

  • Single Hall XOR
  • Endstop signals
  • PWM (0-100%*, 75 Hz)

*Scalable

Parallel – For a precise parallel movement with adjustable features

With Parallel, up to eight actuators can drive in parallel without having to worry about complex cabling or control methods. The actuators communicate directly with each other via their own internal bus system.

Regardless of any variations in load, the actuators stay precisely aligned when moving – and the master will always ensure that the followers are present in the system.

As for Advanced, BusLink™ is also available for Parallel.
